Training Opportunities

Flex-Training

The five week flex-training, designed by the National Court Appointed Special Advocates Association (CASA) was created to prepare students on what is to be expected when they officially become a CASA volunteer. Supervised by Volunteer Coordinators, each week is consisted of a multi-step curriculum, introducing students to many key elements and dynamics (mental health, substance abuse, etc) they may encounter once they become a CASA Volunteer.

Students are also required to obtain 10 hours of court observation.

During the flex-training, Volunteer Coordinators will set up a face-to-face training session, where students will learn about the Court Process Reporting Software (CPRS), a software used to document each case and express their concerns and questions regarding the course.
