Education: Balbo is a graduate of Duquesne University in Pittsburgh where she double majored in Political Science and Classics. Following her undergraduate career, Christy then earned her Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law in New York City, one of the top twenty-five law schools in the country.

Biography: Born and raised in Bayonne, New Jersey, Christy relocated to Savannah from New York City when her husband A.J. was transferred to Fort Stewart with the Army Judge Advocate Corp. She practiced with a civil litigation firm in downtown Savannah, and assisted as a civilian attorney with the Third Infantry Division JAG at Hunter Army Airfield. Balbo was awarded the General’s Pot of Gold Award for her work at Hunter during her husband’s deployment in 2004. Balbo then began her practice in the growing community of Richmond Hill. Balbo’s experience is long and far reaching. While at Fordham, she served as an Editor of the Fordham Intellectual Property Media and Entertainment Law Journal and worked with the school’s Domestic Abuse Advocacy Group which provides tremendous relief and assistance to many of the City’s underprivileged women and children. She has also spent time working for Federal Court District Judges, Nicholas H. Politan and Faith S. Hochberg in Newark, New Jersey.

Her current practice focuses primarily on real estate transactions, business law, contract litigation, and personal injury, she has also had the opportunity to experience career highlights in other areas. Balbo and her former partner were one of the first attorneys in the United States to handle the trial of a Military Extraterritorial Jurisdiction Act matter in the Federal Court system. Balbo is also one, of only two or three attorneys in the last thirty years, to represent a juvenile in a criminal matter before our Federal Court Southern District.

Memberships: 
 In addition to her practice, Balbo teaches a Real Estate Law class at Armstrong University, enjoys speaking to various groups on real estate and business issues, and belongs to several civic organizations including The Women’s Business Alliance of Richmond Hill, Richmond Hill/Bryan County Chamber of Commerce, National Home Builder’s Assoc., The Exchange Club, Georgia Assoc. of Women Lawyers and The Fordham Alumni Assoc.
